December 16, 2002 marked the day of the beginning of the construction work in Páva street. Video>> The synagogue built in 1923 was extended with a new wing based on the plans of István Mányi, Ybl award winner architect. The Holocaust Memorial Center was inaugurated on the memorial day of the victims of the Hungarian Holocaust, April 16th, 2004. The building complex received prestigious awards in 2005 and the permanent exhibition about the history of the Hungarian Holocaust opened its doors in 2006.
