An exhibition titled “To me there’s no other choice – Raoul Wallenberg” opened in Mechelen, Belgium, at Kazerne Dossin, a Memorial, Museum and Documentation Centre on Holocaust and Human Rights in May 2013. 

The Exhibition served as is a platform for dialogue on issues about tolerance, democracy and personal courage. It has been produced by the Swedish Institute on behalf of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and in collaboration with the Living History Forum.

Prof. Dr. Szabolcs Szita, managing director of the Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest took part of a panel discussion on June 5, focusing on the events and developments in Budapest during 1944-45 and Wallenberg’s work during his 192 days of service. Other speakers at the panel included Janos Fonagy, the last Holocaust survivor in the Hungarian Parliament and State Secretary for National Development, Christian Koninckx, professor in history and curator of the University Library of the Brussels University, and Staffan Paues, a close relative of Raoul Wallenberg.

The Exhibition will be closed by Cecilia Malmström, Commissioner for Home affairs on June 18, 2013.
