At the Light of the Torah: Colorful Orthodox Jewish Worlds before the Shoah

The exhibition focuses on the traditional Jewry of Hungary, and aims to showcase its position between the East and the West. It displays this community’s Central European roots, the changes in its lifestyle, and highlights the socio-cultural differences between the Jews immigrating from the territory of Bohemia-Moravia and from Habsburg Galicia. The exhibition presents a wide range of objects, photos and documents from the community and family life of the traditional Jewry of the Carpathian Basin.
