The Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest will organize a conference titled “Holocaust Memory: Recent Challenges in Research and Representation” on November 10 and 11,2020. The primary aim of the conference is to give an overview of the status of Holocaust research in some of the countries in the former Eastern and Western block during the past three decades since the end of the cold war.

In this period, memorial centers, research institutes and museums have been established,significantly changing the institutional framework of Holocaust research and education. The conference will provide an opportunity to evaluate some of the achievements of these academic workshops, summarize their results and forecast the directions of future research.
