International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest cordially invites you to the commemoration of the
International Holocaust Remembrance Day beginning at 11:00 on Friday, January 27, 2023.

In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated 27 January as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On this day in 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest and most notorious Nazi death camp, was liberated. On the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we honour the memory of the six million victims of the Holocaust in Europe, including half a million Hungarians.
